What the programme does
The Foundation funds health services across Nigeria, from rural medical consultations and outreach to the supply of hospital equipment. Its largest health commitment runs through Rotary International, covering polio eradication and maternal and neonatal health.
Nigeria was certified free of wild poliovirus in 2020, after a decade in which the Foundation funded national immunisation days alongside Rotary International, the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
The Foundation also funds glaucoma work: a research grant at the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Mainz, and a Nigerian fellowship in cataract surgery and glaucoma management.
